Mill Rosie #2
My lucky dip swap was from Kim, four gorgeous place mats, a heart pieced bag, note book with matching pen and some yummy heart shaped Haigh’s chocolates. Utterly spoilt by Kim with this swap, thanks Kim
Here’s a close up picture of all the lovely goodies in my swap parcel. I have a funny feeling one of these place mats will end up being a mini wall hanging for my sewing room????

My one on one swap with Shez…..
All these parcels travelled with me to our Mill Rosie meet up
One brown bag contained my one on one swap gift for Shez, I think she liked what I made her
Here is a close up picture of what Shez made for me, a gorgeous red & white draw string bag, hiding inside the bag was 2 pretty fat 1/4’s, red & white DMC threads and a sewing whatnot which folds up for easy carrying. I’m feeling very spoilt today…..Thank you Shez, I love our one on one swaps
This is what I made for Shez, a red & white bag filled with wool & crochet hooks as Shez would like me to teach her how to crochet next time we meet up
Do you want to hear a funny story??? You do, good! See this mini wall hanging above well it was going to be the centre panel for Shez’s crochet bag but when it came time to make it into a bag it kept telling me very loudly that it wanted to be a hanging not a bag and who am I to argue with creativity so this became a hanging but I still wanted to make a bag for Shez so I had to get my skates on the week before our meet up to re-trace the design, stitch it up and then make up her crochet bag LOL the things you do for special friends

Extending my menu options…..
I’ve been trying to explore a few new recipes and extend myself, tonight’s dinner all plated up…….Orange chicken on a bed of spinach and orange salad with a side serve of rice drizzled over lightly with an orange juice, garlic and chicken stock sauce that was reduced using the pan the chicken was cooked in. A very healthy and filling meal and a two thumbs up from my hubby on taste and presentation, I can see this one being made up again in the near future
I also made up a batch of blueberry muffins on the weekend for the freezer to have as a snack for work, makes it so much easier to freeze them as then I’m not tempted to eat the whole lot if they’re sitting on the kitchen bench tempting me lol…..what new recipes are you trying out and do you have any you could recommend I try out???

FNWF’s Results for February……
Friday night saw me heading off into the city with my hubby and another couple to see Suzi Q in concert so I had to do my Friday night sewing in the morning I decided to start on my Rosalie Quinlan project “Scandinavian Roses BOM” and this is what I ended up with, a great way to start the weekend! I plan on working on this one over the rest of the weekend and if I’m really industrious I might even get a start on block two if I get this one done and dusted.
Thanks Cheryll for hosting such a motivational night/day, I’m planning on making myself another cuppa and start cruising all the other blogs that participated and see what everyone else was working on last night and if you’d like to do the same just pop over to Cheryll's blog you wont be disappointed

Another start….but this one is for me!!
Have you ever had a project that you were dying to start but other commitments kept getting in the way? first off was Uni to get my Diploma, for two years this project was my carrot on a stick to get me through all those assignments, evaluations etc…. but you know what it’s been just over another two years since I finished my course and I hadn’t even opened one, not one of these stitcheries due to other commitments! But this year 2015 is the year I’m making something just for me and this project is first off the list Rosalie Quinlan’s “Scandinavian Roses” BOM. I know this one will be a long term project which for me I’ll struggle with as I’m so used to doing quick/mini projects so I know I’ll have to pace myself and remind myself (constantly) that it’s ok if it takes me a year or two or three to get this one finished……..Wish me luck as I embark on an adventure of a lifetime and I’ll be posting progress photo’s when and if I get some stitching done over the next year or two while working on other projects because anyone who knows me well will know I can’t just work on one thing at a time LOL
