TRIANGLE REVEAL....Friday Night Sew In final results

Today saw me finish putting this gorgeous bag together, I've never worked with crocheted triangles so it was a big learning curve for me. I fell in love with the bag design by "Sue Pinner" when I bought the February Homespun magazine issue and it's taken me all this time to gather my courage to attempt it :) I've made lots and lots of fabric bags but I've never attempted making one in crochet till now and I have to say I'm tickled pink with how it's turned out, it took me about a week from start to finish to complete this bag.......I think I have a new triangle addiction to feed now and I can see some bunting being made with these triangles to grace my sewing room.

Friday Night Sew In Results.....

Friday and Friday night saw me working on these colourful triangles....
Lots and lots of ends to be sewn in after each round....
 triangles are multiplying....

Final round waiting for the ends to be sewn in, getting bigger and more colourful....
Starting to sew them up, pinning them into place....

Next step, one more row around and I can start crocheting the band will hopefully have a picture of the finished item by the end of our Easter long weekend but no promises mind you. Don't forget to stop over at Wendy's to see what everyone else got up to :)

A birthday gift....

This week one of the girls I work with celebrated a special birthday and this is what I made for her using felted balls ( from our visit to Lucello's last year ) with crocheted circles and buttons made up into a  necklace and I'm happy to say she loved it! Not a bad attempt for a first go at making a necklace I may just need to make myself one I think?

Finally another finish....

I've had this stitchery finished for at least a year maybe even more truth be told but finally I sat down and cut it out, lined it with some Bonnie & Camille fabric from my stash and  finally made it up over the long weekend....it's brilliant to finally have something out of my WIP pile and into the finished basket, this is another project that is for me after making a few last year for gifts ...now to decide what project will go in it??? decisions, decisions LOL.

5 down 12 to go....

I now have five of my stitcheries done with twelve more I need to work on, I'll be trying to start on my pieced blocks once I've rummaged through my fabric stash for more variety I'm trying to only use what's in my stash if I can before I crumble and buy more for this project :)
I've had a few queries on where to source the pattern and the designer so I'll let you know the pattern was bought at Millrose in Ballan, Victoria and the designer is Judy Newman and the pattern is called "Deck the halls" hope that answers all your questions concerning this pattern.

Busy, busy, busy....

Slowly getting back into doing some sewing for myself, I've had this pattern traced out for ages and it's been waiting for at least a year for me to pick up and start it...I'm .enjoying the varied colours after working with one colour for my Scandinavian roses blocks. This lovely stitchery is called SEW LAUGH LOVE By: Leanne's House ( Leanne Beasley ) I hope to work on this in-between my other many craft projects I have on the go at the moment LOL.

And a couple of the stitcheries stitched up, just need to start working on the pieced blocks next weekend if I can snatch a bit of time at the machine and sewing them to these finished stitcheries I'll have the first row of this quilt done :)

A late birthday gift....

At the beginning of February my dear friend Mel had a birthday and I was hoping to catch up with her at our meet up a couple of weeks ago but Mel was too sick to attend for the day so I gave her gift to Christine who personally delivered it to her ( thanks Christine ) a mini crocheted hexie candle mat with some yummy smelling tea light candles. I've heard from Mel that she received her pressie and loves it so all's good :)

And of course what would the day be without some funny business and shenanigans LOL....good one Marg!

Then it was Christine's turn to photo bomb our attempts at taking  a serious photo, should have known this wouldn't have been an easy task with these gals involved :)

Here is a photo of some the beautiful swap items.....

And the rest of the swap items, these girls all do such beautiful work and it is such a fun day when we get together...... I can't wait for our next catch up in May bring it on I say :)
