I have been spoilt rotten!

These are just a few of the gorgeous gifts I received from my swap partner in the Santa sack swap.....can you see a colour scheme emerging here? Cheryl knew I loved red and white together and didn't dissapoint my craving for these colours lol.....The pin cushion is now sitting beside my sewing machine and the felt Christmas decoration is hanging on my tree and the beautiful heart stitchery is hanging from one of my cabinets in the loungeroom.
MmMmmm sorry Cheryl but I couldn't resist peeking inside this pretty purse to see what the lump was I could feel inside it. Cheryl must have known I'm a note pad kind of girl and this one will be put to good use with all my to-do lists for next year, just gorgeous!
But wait there's more......Cheryl also knew from our many emails that I loved to read and look at that beautiful book mark she gifted me with,I'm being very spoilt by Cheryl in this swap :)
Cheryl also sent along two more Christmas decorations which are also now hanging on my tree,my tree is looking very full and lovely with all these decorations! Can you see the pretty Christmas buttons? Haven't seen ones like these before and can't wait to find that perfect project to showcase them of. Cheryl also sent me some red and white gift tags.....may just need to use thee in my sewing rooom, they'd look lovely as tags for my woven baskets which hold some of my many my projects.
Now I take my hat of to Cheryl for this gorgeous journal as that very pretty bird is done in needleturn something I've only every attempted twice and failed miserably not to mention I have no patience with this method of applique give me blanket stitch anytime lol.....Thanks Cheryl :)
Cheryl also supplied me with chocolates to keep my stamina up over the Christmas break....Mmmm my favourite peppermint chocolate, not much left of it now :)
Cheryl alos sent me some gorgeous fabrics in.....you guessed it red and white LOL,these have been washed, ironed and placed in with my other red and white fabrics ready to be used in a couple of projects I'm working on hope to show you some progress photo's in the new year.
Last but not the least by any means is this beautiful stitchery wall hanging with it equally beautiful hanger, this is now hanging in my sewing room so I can see it every time I go there.....Cheryl you have spoilt me rotten with this swap and I'm happy you also liked what I sent to you :)
It's been a busy few weeks for me and I've been a bit slack ( meaning way too tired ) to answer emails/comments left here and posting things on my blog but I'd like to take this time to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and a safe and happy new year and I hope you'll come back and visit me in the new year :) Barb.

Awesome gifts Barb! Red and white is always a winner!
As for needleturn, you should try the Stitch and Wash method, it's so easy. I'm not good at the traditional method but this one gives the same results.
You cut out the shape you need from Floriani stitch an wash, iron it to the wrong side of your fabric, trim 1/4 inch to 1/8 around the edge and then using a glue stick (washable kind) lue the seam down, then you stitch the shape onto the fabric. When washed the stitch and wash dissolves.
