I've joined in for a few things for 2013 and one of them is "Birthday Love" Sometimes I'm madly rushing to finish of things for birthdays and occassionally have to resort to "Gasp" buying their gift instead :( So I've decided to join Wendy and start making at least one Birthday gift a month, hopefully this will mean I'm not pulling my hair out closer to birthday dates and not running around trying to look for the perfect gift to buy because I've run out of time to make it LOL......anyway if you'd like to join in the fun and be more organised with your Birthday list for 2013 just click on the picture on the right of my side bar or click on this link http://sugarlanequilts.blogspot.com.au/ to take you to Wendy's blog and join up for some fun and a less stressful 2013 :)
Just before Christmas I won these gorgeous books but haven't had time with all the last minute things to do before Christmas to do a post on them.I'd like to thank Sinta http://pinkpincushion.blogspot.com.au/
for being so generous and re-gifting these beautiful books,I've been drooling over them over my Christmas break and have already added a couple to my to-do list for 2013.....you never know someone may just end up with one as a Birthday/Christmas gift!!
Remember this gorgeous red and white ripple crocheted blanket I've been working on over the past year well I've finished it but I wont be showing you a photo of it all done as when I washed it the red ran and now I have a red and pink tinged blanket......I'm sooooo cross this has happened!! all my work ruined by the red running it's kinda put me off making another red and white one but we'll see whether the urge is stronger than the dissapointment :(
If anyone had any ideas on how to get it back to it's original glory I'd love to hear it :)

Try soaking in some cold water and napi-san. I have had success with cotton clothing when colours have run in the wash - however I have not tried it with wool. Good luck!
What a shame... have you tried any of those colour run products from Coles or Woolworths... I have used them and had some success with them... it is a gorgeous rug... I would love to make a red and white quilt but am scared of the run from the red that may happen. xxx
Whenever I wash a new quilt I use a Shout Color Catcher. The color that runs get into the color catcher instead of the quilt. I'm sure it would probably work for a crocheted blanket too.
I would suggest the colour run products too. Though I could add - I once did a cross stitch on linen using Danish Flower Thread - the dark green ran. I was advised to use warm/hot water and Omo - I was apprehensive but it worked.
Good Luck - what a shame after all that work.
I use color catchers from woolworth just pop the item in the wash with the catcher it work well I had a item that the dye ran and it brought the dye out they are the best thing I have used. I all was wash my item in vinegar and salt when new.
I have had success on Dylons colour run product you can get from the supermarket. Not sure how it will work on wool as it requires soaking but it might be worth a try. Fingers crossed for you. Thanks also about the birthday stash. I might also go and jump on board for that one. Happy New Year!
How disappointing for you Barb. Your rug is just beautiful and for that to happen. Lovely win. Happy New Year!
Nice books. Enjoy playing with those ideas.
Hope your blanket is fixable.
Merry 2013 to you.
So disappointing when that happens after so much work. I hope one of these methods works for you. Good luck gift making, and happy new year.
How disappointing. I cannot offer any solution but will be watching with interest to the above suggestions.
Great idea to get ahead with the gifts. Must give this some thought myself.
Oh no Barb so disappointing...
Oh how I hope something works for you, I too have used colour run sheets for cotton threads when they have run, but as I don't use wool I don't know if they will work here. It is a stunning blanket :)
