Still deciding?

I started working on this runner a couple of days ago but I'm stuck trying to decide if I should add some zing to the borders or just leave them plain.....what do you think? This will be going in the birthday box when I finally decide on how to finis it off.
While deciding on how to finish the runner I had a few leftover strips and decided not to waste them but make them up into journals.....another two for the birthday box. The fabric is a range called "Redwork Renaissance" by Chloe's Closet for Moda, gotta love Moda fabrics :)

I think it would look good with red binding.

Great journals you can never have enough of those in the birthday box....I think a spotty bind...a bit into spots at the moment...

I think I would add some colour to the binding. The red journals are so bright and cheery, they will make great gifts. Hugs....

Happy New Year Barb! You are off and racing with the birthday box already..... I'm with the other girls too, a red binding would finish it nicely. Great work!

Love the journal covers... and as far as my opinion re runner. If you have the time...a simple embroidered flowers & vine would be nice... otherwise just a red binding like the others suggested. Happy New Year! :)

A little embroidery would be a nice touch.
Small tea and cake motifs maybe?
Gorgeous journals.
Enjoy deciding.

I think you could toss a coin and either way it would look great. I would normally choose a red binding, but I think it would look fresh and modern left plain.

I am with everyone else! Umm it depends on if you want simple and elegant- then maybe go for a red binding of some description- more detailed, then I agree with Cheryll and Sharon, vine and flowers would be a lovely way to go, though the binding might need to be more subtle then so as not to overshadow the stitching :) I love the journals :)

I would go with the red binding too.

Love your journal covers. I am going to put them on my list of things to do. They would be great with a pen. Gift finished.

I reckon red binding would do the trick. You could do a thin strip of red then another thin strip of white before putting the binding on but why go to all that trouble? Love the journals.YOu are really good at making them. Sorry about your blanket though. Do you think a dye catcher would work in the washing machine after the event?
