FNSI....A start and a finish

This is what I managed to finish last night before we lost power on and off for most of the night, a cushion cover to go with the flimsy quilt top I just finished a little while ago using some of the left over squares from it........the block is called a disappearing nine patch,
and this is what I started working on by candlelight....I know,I know another project started.I bought this wool a little while ago and thought it was 4ply and it wasn't till I got home that I realise it was 8ply and much too heavy to use for crocheting a baby blanket so now I've started using it in  another blanket but a knitted one this time,I'm very slow at knitting so we'll see how long it takes for it to be finished :)

Ha ha! I started knitting a baby blanket a few months ago.... it is now a UFO! I can see it under a coffee table.... it's just not calling loudly enough!

Your cushion cover is delightful.

Lovely cushion cover to brighten your space.
Glad my power didn't go out, I was on a roll and could not have worked by candle light - well done on the start in those trying conditions. Look forward to seeing a little progress from time to time.
Enjoy

Hello Barb,

Hope you didn't drop any stitches, knitting by candlelight. Though that is how people did it years ago. A lovely cushion to go with the quilt.Happy days.

Lovely cushion cover. The knitting could be your waiting WIP, something you do when you're in a waiting room for an appointment or waiting for your TV program to start when the ads are on :)!
Cheers,
Robyn

You did well considering the power being difficult...knitting by candlelight, now that is dedication!!! Nice cushion cover, great idea to have a cushion to go with your quilt.

The cushion cover is very pretty. I love the fabrics you used. And knitting is the perfect project to do when you lose power.

You were very productive, considering having to work in candlelight. I love your crocheted blankets in your previous post. You do beautiful handwork!

I love your cushion cover, the fabrics are just gorgeous! What a shame about the power, hope it wasn't anything serious that caused it to drop out!

Your idea of making a cushion cover to match a quilt is a great one! I love the disappearing 9-patch quilts - they can be addictive!
