What’s a girl to do but make squares with them……..These will eventually turn into a baby blanket.
I also received this gorgeous charm pack from Wendy for winning June’s FNSI, I can’t wait to see what these become 
Thanks Wendy for hosting such a fabulous night it certainly motivates me to get some stitching done.
I couldn’t resist making up another of these sewing pouches by Leanne Beasley but decided for Anne’s birthday gift to use cottage garden thread “Kangaroo Paw” so it could go with the French general fabric I selected to use for the lining.
Here it is with the lining showing. Anne’s birthday was yesterday so I can now show these photo’s as she’s received her gift and I’m relieved to say she loved it 
I think I can see a few more of these popping up as I just loved making it and I need to really make one for myself as well.
Friday I had a chance to start early on these blocks….
I know they don’t look like squares yet but in a little while they morphed into……
See the square shape beginning to form and after the final couple of rounds they looked like this…….
here’s a close up of the two blocks done in two colour combinations……..
This is the Willow block by Jan Eaton made up in Bendigo Woollen Mills 4ply cotton and while I love the colours you can get in these cottons I think these squares will only be multiplying to make up a couple of rectangle cushions as I’m not to sure how it will keep it’s shape with something big like a blanket.
So this is is how I spent my Friday and Friday night, now to pop around all the other participants blogs and see what they got up to 
I’ll be working on some more of my crocheted “Willow blocks” but this time I’ll be using some pretty 4ply cotton I bought while on holidays visiting my parents.

Today the postman brought me my Tilda swap parcel from Keryn and I found a “New friend” nestled in amongst shredded tissue paper as well some very lovely Tilda fabric and bling trim, Cosmo threads, applique needles, sparkly Christmas ribbon as well as some yummy almond bread and Ferrero Rocher chocolates which I have to admit have already been nibbled on over a latte.
I was very spoilt!

Keryn had popped in a lovely card explaining how hard it was for her to locate Tilda fabric where she is living and could only find the one lonely fat 1/4, but you know what I think, I think Keryn made the perfect alternate choice when she chose to make me something Christmassy because anyone who knows me knows I love Christmas

Friday night saw me crocheting up 8 of these squares and continuing to work on more over the weekend to end up with a total of 30 squares. I also took a photo’s of the four orange trees my parents have along their driveway, they were literally dripping with oranges, it was a beautiful sight to see 
Here’s a close up of one of the trees……..needless to say Anne and I have a few bags of oranges in the boot of the car ready to take home…..
I finally put the circle/squares together and this is what they turned into…..
A rectangle cushion, LovE, LoVe, LOve it!! This is the front above and below is the back……
I know, I know it’s not a blanket, I’m quick but not that quick LOL but I seriously can see me making one using this pattern especially with all my little bits of leftover wool from other projects but if I do use my scraps then this blanket will definitely be a long term project 
So what do you think was it worth the wait?
Remember those circles I showed you yesterday, well I added a border to each of them to make them into……. squares
Then I got really motivated and…….
I sewed all the squares together, I still don’t know what these will end up becoming but I’m loving how the colours are making me smile 
it’s amazing how just tiny bits of leftover wool can become something so beautiful.
That’s what my life has been feeling like lately so decided to do something constructive about it………..
and started something new with my leftover wool scraps 
Finally found some time to trace out the words for the border and then sew both borders on, now to finish the stitching so I can finally put it together and hang it up…… maybe in my kitchen?? I’m loving how this is looking 
I’ve also been working on more of my willow blocks as well as a couple of other secret crochet projects which I should be able to show pictures of after August.
