Look what came back with me.....

While visiting my parents over the Australia day holiday this very dusty but beautiful singer tredle sewing machine came home with me and my sister in the back of the car.......
There was no chance of me saying no to my mum when she offered it to me......
My mum is a very big  Bower bird and for her to give this, her mum's sewing machine to me was extra special.....now to find someone who can restore it to its former glory.

Oh that's just wonderful! I have an old Singer too that needs some work one of these days. I had to buy mine though. The one my grandmother had went to a cousin of mine who doesn't sew.

How wonderful, Barb. :)
I have one that is very similar although I got mine several years ago at an antique place. DM had one but we shifted several times and it disappeared from the storage facility. :( I haven't used mine, needs a couple of minor repairs, but it has a box of attachments for all sorts of things. unfortunately the instruction book crumble into bits.

Oh Wow.....lucky you Barb :) It is going to be beautiful when restored. I had one from my sons greatgrandmother and I gave it to my son before we moved over to Victoria from WA. I would love to have brought it with me but somethings had to be left. Enjoy :) hugs Vicki x

Wow Barb, How lucky are you that is beautiful. My grandmother taught me to sew on her machine just like that one. When she passed away and mum went to clean out the house with here sisters the machine was gone. We only have memories now to hold on to. I no that you will treasure yours and the memories that your mum gave it to you.
Hugs
Narelle

Oh it's lovely! Even if it can't be restored to working order as an antique curio it's worth a bit, as is, because it is in the original table. Might be an idea to have it professionally valued and check your household insurance covers it as it's just as irreplaceable as a fine work of art, not to mention the sentimental value.
Lol, now you could still machine sew even if there's a power outage :). Looking forward to seeing how it's restored and what you make with it.
Cheers,
Robyn
